In 2023, about 17m electric and hybrid vehicles to be sold worldwide

According to Counterpoint Research company, over 10 million electric vehicles and hybrids were sold worldwide in 2022, with top-3 manufacturers being from China, Germany and the USA

As reported, last year, battery electric vehicles accounted for 72 percent of all EV sales while plug-in hybrid EVs (PHEVs) accounted for the rest.

In Q4 2022, sales of electric vehicles increased by 53 percent compared to the same period in 2021. At the same time, seven of the ten most popular electric car models belong to the Chinese companies BYD and Wuling. Meanwhile, Tesla’s Model Y remained the best-selling model globally

Counterpoint Research predicts that in 2023 about 17 million electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids will be sold worldwide.

Belarusian car dealers sold 55 electric vehicles last year. According to EV Volumes calculations, EV global sales in 2022 increased by 55 percent compared to 2021, to reach 10.5 million units. Electric vehicle sales were the highest in China, up 82 percent.
