The One District – One Project programme, initiated by the Head of State, is developing at a serious pace, with many such projects to be implemented across the country in a short time – as noted by Belarus’ Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko after his working trip to the Ushachi District
According to him, in early 2023, this programme included 126 projects. By the end of last year, there were already about 160 of them, and now their number already stands at 190. This figure is growing constantly, while the total amount of funds allocated is closer to Br8bn.
“Of all the projects, about 20 have already been completed. Facilities – worth about Br1.4bn – were put into operation. The selection of funds is ongoing. Each of the projects is subject to separate monitoring by the Economy Ministry. Schedules are tracked online; if any downfall is visible somewhere, response measures are immediately taken,” stated the PM.
The Head of Government focused special attention on the activity of the country’s regions. He noted that over time, everyone got involved in the implementation, because favourable financing conditions were offered: an 8-percent loan for a long term in the current realities is very good conditions.
According to Roman Golovchenko, the greatest activity, as is obvious, is being shown so far in places where there is no need to install utility networks and where there is a developed infrastructure. First of all, this refers to the Minsk Region: Dzerzhinsk, Soligorsk, Smolevichi, and Borisov districts, with each having 5-6 projects. Krupki and Kopyl districts have 2-3 each. All other regions are also catching up.
“Projects of different scales will be implemented in each district. We popularise this programme, trying to demonstrate its attractiveness through successful cases and awaken the initiative onsite.”
For this purpose, Roman Golovchenko visited the new production workshop for processing protein and fatty raw materials of the Ushachi branch of Vitebskagroprodukt JSC, positively assessing the implementation of the project.
