Belarus to host first firewood chopping championship among journalists
On November 7th, for the first time in Belarus, firewood chopping competitions among journalists will be held at the Vyacha water reservoir in the Minsk District, bringing together representatives of the national and regional media, the leadership of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee, the Minsk District Executive Committee and the Minsk State Forestry Association, BelTA reports
Both men and women will test their strength in chopping firewood and relay, while only men will also compete in cutting logs. The winners will be determined by the results of the team and individual standings.
Alongside the competitive part, the programme of the event includes demonstration performances by professional fellers, musical performances by creative teams and animators. A field kitchen and retail outlets will be also operating on the site.
The competition will take place in the Minsk District, on the bank of the Vyacha water reservoir, beach No. 7 (navigator co-ordinates: N 54.064124, E 27.635279). The grand opening is scheduled for 11am.
