Belarus’ NOC participating in ANOC General Assembly in South Korea

A representative of Belarus’ National Olympic Committee participates in the 26th General Assembly of the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) which has launched today in the capital of the Republic of Korea and will last three days, the NOC press service reports

The ANOC General Assembly will be held until October 21st, gathering representatives of 187 national Olympic committees. Another 18 are joining online.

A two-time Olympic medallist in rhythmic gymnastics, Ksenia Sankovich, represents Belarus’ NOC as Acting Secretary General of the Committee.

ANOC Acting President Robin Mitchell, ANOC Secretary General Gunilla Lindberg, and IOC President Thomas Bach spoke at the opening of the General Assembly in Seoul.

Thomas Bach stressed that the activities of the International Olympic Committee remain outside politics, adding that the principles of unity and peace are important for the Committee.

The General Assembly is today hearing reports of the ANOC Finance and Audit Commissions, the ANOC Events Commission – ANOC World Beach Games 2023, as well as speeches by WADA, the International Testing Agency (ITA) and the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
