Belarus’ Ambassador and Director of Holocaust Memorial Centre confirm the importance of preserving historical truth

According to the Foreign Ministry, the Ambassador informed the interlocutor about the large-scale work at the legislative and executive levels in connection with the announcement of 2022 in Belarus as the Year of Historical Memory, as well as about the activities of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Belarus to investigate the fact of the genocide of the Belarusian people during the Great Patriotic War and in the post-war period.

During the meeting, the parties discussed promising areas and outlined projects for interaction between the Budapest Holocaust Memorial Centre and Belarusian partners. They agreed on the importance to continue joint work in order to preserve the historical truth and perpetuate the memory of the victims of the Holocaust, reaffirming openness to further dialogue and agreeing to continue working contacts.
