Belarus’ Aryna Sabalenka maintained top position in world rankings
The Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) has published the updated version of the global rankings, with Aryna Sabalenka from Belarus maintaining her top position, marking the end of a largely successful season for her, sb.by reports
The positions of other Belarusian tennis players within the top-200 have also stayed the same: Aliaksandra Sasnovich is currently ranked 111th, Victoria Azarenka is placed 135th and Iryna Shymanovich is 155th.
As noted, Aryna Sabalenka is at the top of the rankings. Following her in the top-10 are Iga Swiatek (Poland), Coco Gauff (US), Amanda Anisimova (US), Elena Rybakina (Kazakhstan), Jessica Pegula (US), Madison Keys (US), Jasmine Paolini (Italy), Mirra Andreeva (Russia) and Ekaterina Alexandrova (Russia).
It is important to mention that the top-10 remained unchanged from the previous version.
In the latest rankings of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), the highest-ranked Belarusian player is Erik Arutyunyan, who has climbed 59 positions to reach 450th place.
At the top of the rankings is Carlos Alcaraz from Spain. The rest of the top-10 includes Jannik Sinner (Italy), Alexander Zverev (Germany), Novak Djokovic (Serbia), Felix Auger-Aliassime (Canada), Taylor Fritz (US), Alex de Minaur (Australia), Lorenzo Musetti (Italy), Ben Shelton (US) and Jack Draper (UK).
Felix Auger-Aliassime climbed three spots to reach fifth place globally after making it to the semi-finals of the ATP finals in Turin. Meanwhile, Ben Shelton fell from fifth to ninth after losing all three of his matches in the event. Additionally, Lorenzo Musetti advanced from ninth to eighth place.
