86.6% of Belarusians say they are patriots

Nikita Brovchuk, from National Academy of Sciences’ Institute of Sociology, commented on results of a recent sociological study focusing on Belarusians’ patriotic values

The poll – conducted from February 28th to March 17th – indicated that 86.6 percent of Belarusians consider themselves patriots.

Being a patriot of Belarus means to live and work in the country (55.5 percent), respect its state symbols and history (50.2 percent), be ready to defend Belarus in difficult times (44.4 percent), love the national culture and language (42.5 percent), and feel close ties with Belarusians (29.4 percent).
