Belarus’ sambo wrestlers captured 26 medals at international tournament for prizes of the President

The 29th International Sambo Tournament for the Prizes of the President of the Republic of Belarus ended in Minsk on February 12th, more than 200 athletes from Belarus, Armenia, Bulgaria, Germany, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan competed for 21 sets of medals (seven in men's, women's and combat sambo each) for two days, sb.by reports with reference to the Ministry of Sports and Tourism

On February 12th, the Belarusian sambo wrestlers won three gold, three silver and seven bronze medals. Karyna Shut (up to 80kg), Yauheni Rebikau (up to 58kg, combat sambo) and Eduard Muravitsky (up to 88kg, combat sambo) won the titles in their weight categories. In turn, Daniela Zhdan (up to 65kg), Ilya Lomivorotov (up to 79kg) and Roman Damiev (over 98kg, combat sambo) captured silver, and bronze medals went to Igor Miroevsky (up to 64kg), Polina Gramotneva, Maryana Zhukovets (both up to 80kg), Egor Gornostay (up to 71kg, combat sambo), Roman Manishko, Zakhar Toropov (both up to 88kg, combat sambo), and Aleksei Dubovik (over 98kg, combat sambo).

The day before, the Belarusians also won 13 awards (3-2-8). As a result, the total number of medals reached 26: 6 gold, 5 silver, and 15 bronze.
