New impetus is important

Hard work lies ahead to restore our mutual turnover, noted Belarus PM Andrei Kobyakov meeting with the State Secretary of the Union State, Grigory Rapota.

“In the new year we’ll have to rethink our ideas. Unfortunately, not everything in 2015 proceeded as we would have wished. I believe that a good deal of work lies ahead of us to restore mutual trade turnover, since it has decreased significantly,” commented Andrei Kobyakov. Moreover, the Head of the Belarusian Government explained that both countries’ economies are adjusting to new foreign economic conditions. “I’m sure we’ll be able to resume the programmes of foreign economic co-operation that have been delayed.”

Mr. Kobyakov underlined the necessity to actively facilitate a new impetus for mutual collaboration in economic affairs between the two countries. The Head of the Belarusian Government has stated that, in the near future, he plans to visit a range of Russian regions, in particular, St. Petersburg. “We’re also negotiating a meeting with Tatarstan,” added Mr. Kobyakov.
