A new study by the Universal Postal Union (UPU) states that, in recent times, rapid growth in postal e-services has been registered. In terms of overall e-services development, the UPU places the following countries in the top ten: Switzerland, Belarus, Italy, Germany, Qatar, Tunisia, France, the Republic of Korea, the United States and Canada.
E-services — such as tracking of parcels, finding a post office, money transfers and e-payments — are enjoying an increasing share in the field of postal services.
UPU Director General Edouard Dayan stresses that physical mail volumes have declined but post offices are making innovative and strategic use of new technologies to diversify their products and services.
