The National Art Museum welcomes wonderful canvases by Russian painters of the 19th-20th centuries

Eternal shine of pure painting

Masterpieces touring the National Art Museum is an ordinary event, but each time it excites the audience.

This time, the Belarusian treasure-house of the arts welcomes wonderful canvases by Russian painters of the 19th-20th centuries, encompassing several outstanding names: Aivazovsky, Vasnetsov, Levitan, Savrasov, Repin… There are also our fellow countrymen: Bakst, Pen, Soutine and Kikoine. All this wealth comes from the collection of famous Russian collector Alexander Volodchinsky. At the opening presentation of the exhibition, Mr. Volodchinsky donated a landscape painting by legendary Belarusian artist Vitold Byalynitsky-Birulya. The gift was accompanied by his profession of love towards Belarus and promise for further joint projects with the National Art Museum. Among those present at this wonderful event were Belarus’ Culture Minister, Boris Svetlov, Russian actor Leonid Kanevsky and other honorary guests.

The details of the exhibition will be available in next issue.
