Marina Arzamasova and Alexander Linnik were recognised as the best athletes of the previous year.

Runner Marina Arzamasova, claiming 800m gold at the IAAF World Championships last year, clinched the award for the second year in a row. Arzamasova’s coach Natalia Dukhnova also received the Atletika award for the second time.

At the 2015 European Athletics Team Championships in Cheboksary, Alexander Linnik took the 400m bronze and was recognized as best track-and-field athlete of the year 2015. Alexander Sidoruk was named best men’s coach.

A special award in the category of ‘Newcomer of the Year’ went to Alina Talay, a bronze medallist in the hurdles of the 2015 IAAF World Championships.

The U21 Atletika Award went to hammer thrower Yelena Soboleva and javelin thrower Alexander Kozlovsky.

Meanwhile, the U19 Atletika was given to decathlete Maxim Andraloit and runner Elvira German who perform in the 100m hurdles, while the U17 award went to long jumper Violetta Skvortsova and discus thrower Gleb Zhuk.
