Alexander Lukashenko and Dmitry Medvedev discuss Belarus-Russia economic co-operation in informal atmosphere

The President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, and Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev have met informally in the agro-town of Alexandria.

The meeting lasted for more than three hours, with Mr. Lukashenko and Mr. Medvedev discussing all important issues of the current agenda: bilateral relations, economic collaboration, regional issues and the international agenda.

The meeting was agreed in Sochi in January 2016. The Belarusian Head of State showed the Russian guest his native land and Mr. Lukashenko and Mr. Medvedev sampled natural birch sap, as well as taking pictures near the Belarusian leader’s home and visiting the Trofimova Krinitsa, restored under the President’s instruction nearly three years ago. The Russian PM drank the blessed water from this spring well, which attracts people from nearby regions, and from Russia.

The informal meeting followed official events in Mogilev, which hosted the meeting of the Union State Council of Ministers on May 12th.
