The idea of setting up a furniture industry group in Belarus by attracting large businesses eager to make long-term investments and develop operations in an EAEU member state is under discussion.
The core of the group is to be located in Belarusian Rechitsa, which is an area with a concentration of facilities manufacturing chipboard, plywood, and other furniture-making materials. According to expert’s estimates, the project will require an investment of some $25m. The expected payoff period is three years with an 8-15 percent return on sales.
The business discussion session took place in the city of Inegol which is one of the centres of the Turkish furniture industry.
