Lukashenko: truth about crimes of fascism serves as serious warning to humanity

The truth about the crimes of fascism serves as a serious warning to humanity, and the preservation of historical memory acquires special importance – as stated by President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko during today’s solemn meeting on the occasion of Victory Day in the Palace of the Republic

The Head of State pointed out that Belarus will continue to do everything necessary for this, “No matter how anyone in the ‘great democracies’ resists and hinders, no matter what they say, regardless of the personalities and the statute of limitations, we will identify and bring to justice those involved in the atrocities of the Nazis, even posthumously or in absentia.”

The President drew attention to the fact that our Victory has been outlawed in many Western states today, “Fascist radicals are marching under the SS divisions’ banners. War criminals are honoured at state level, while those who honour the memory of the Great Victory are declared enemies of the nation. Unprecedented information attacks and all kinds of falsifications by the collective West justify the atrocities committed by the Nazis and their henchmen. We see how the revanchists are trying to pull the failed Nazi ideology out of hell. Everything is presented as if the Nuremberg Tribunal had never existed. And it’s not just about Ukraine.”

“In these conditions, the truth about the crimes of fascism serves as a serious warning to humanity, and the preservation of historical memory acquires special importance,” the Head of State noted.

“It is high time for the peoples of Europe to understand that Great Victory is our common heritage. Thanks to it, as well as the political, economic, and military might of the Soviet Union, the Eurasian continent was assured peace for many decades,” Aleksandr Lukashenko added.

According to the President, despite the ideological differences and the geopolitical struggle in the post-war period, the world players still managed to negotiate.

“In the conditions of the Cold War, the opposing parties took real steps towards de-escalation based on the balance of power, while international organisations acted as real platforms for negotiations, contributing to the preservation of peace and strengthening security on the planet,” the Belarusian leader asserted.
