“Thirty years ago, your glorious people defeated the shameful phenomenon of apartheid, finally achieving fair treatment of citizens and the right for everyone to choose the fate of their country. Since that moment, your state has embodied the ideals of sovereign equality, multipolarity, sustainable development, regional integration and equal opportunities for participants in international relations,” the congratulatory message reads.

The Head of State noted that during this time, Belarus and South Africa – sharing similar ideals and goals – supported each other at multilateral platforms, developed trade, industrial and scientific co-operation, and expanded contacts between businessmen.

“Taking into account the great potential for further intensification of relations between Minsk and Pretoria across a variety of sectors, I confirm my readiness to welcome you on a visit to our hospitable land to discuss current issues of interaction and agree on joint plans for the future,” the President underlined.

Aleksandr Lukashenko wished Cyril Ramaphosa excellent health, longevity and new successes, and peace and prosperity to the friendly people of South Africa.
