Chairman of the Grodno Regional Executive Committee Vladimir Karanik reported to the President that last year the region demonstrated sustainable growth. This affected the well-being of people, ensuring the fulfilment of all social obligations. 114 investment projects are currently being implemented in the region; 21 projects are being realised across 17 districts as part of the One District – One Project programme. In recent time, many social facilities have been built in Grodno, for which the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee expressed the words of gratitude to Aleksandr Lukashenko from the residents.

“Let’s do without gratitude,” the Belarusian leader responded. “Did you think I don’t view Grodno as our city? It’s more than ours. Let them [our opponents in the West] know that Grodno is ours, and we will not give it to anyone.”

Later, speaking with local residents, the Belarusian leader once again underlined this aspect, “Grodno is our country, our land, our city. We will not give a millimetre of anything to anyone here.”

The Head of State was informed about the progress of the hospital’s construction and future plans at the construction site. This is truly a unique facility of strategic importance, where everything is thought out to the smallest detail: from equipping with modern equipment to convenient logistics and the possibility of zoning premises in case of, e.g., an epidemic. The President inquired when the construction would complete.

“In 52 months,” reported Vladimir Karanik.

“OK, but it’s too long,” says Aleksandr Lukashenko. “Let’s build the hospital in two years and give a present for the New Year.”

The Grodno Region Governor accepted for fulfilment.
