The Belarusian nuclear power plant has obtained official permission to carry out fire safety work using flame retardant, sb.by reports citing the BelNPP Telegram channel

The new licence will enable the plant to speed up work on protecting structures and equipment from fire and improve its quality by using its own qualified personnel and technical resources.
“The examination conducted by specialists from the Grodno Regional Department of the Emergencies Ministry, inspected the plant’s technical equipment for fire protection work. The qualifications of the personnel were verified, the control system and emergency readiness were evaluated,” the BelNPP stated.
The experts also studied local legal acts regulating the actions of the plant's professional emergency rescue teams during firefighting operations.
Based on the results of the inspection and analysis of the documents submitted, Emergencies Ministry specialists came to a positive conclusion regarding compliance with the requirements of the Law of the Republic of Belarus ‘On Licensing’. Following this conclusion, the BelNPP was issued the appropriate licence.
