Alexandra Romanovskaya, aged 18, surprised fans and experts in achieving an impressive 80.62 points for her aerial ski jumping. Another representative of Belarus, 22 year old Anna Guskova, was ranked 10th in the first day of the event. However, she managed to rehabilitate the following day when she claimed bronze in individual competitions.

Meanwhile, the team (Anna Guskova, Stanislav Gladchenko and Denis Osipov) took silver, with 320.00 points. In the final, Anna Guskova achieved 81.27 points, while Stanislav Gladchenko had 114.39, and Denis Osipov 124.34. Success at World Cup stages is nothing new to Belarus’ freestylers, who took bronze in Beijing earlier this season (Anna Guskova and Denis Osipov joined by Maxim Gustik).

The highest place among our men went to Denis Osipov, ranked 7th, while Maxim Gustik, who took bronze at the recent World Championship in Austrian Kreischberg, came 9th. In the World Cup individual men’s standings, Osipov is now 9th, Gustik is 12th, and Gladchenko 20th. Among the women, Romanovskaya is 3rd, Guskova is ranked 7th, and Olga Kapustina is 24th.

This season, the national team of Belarus (under coach Nikolay Kozeko) has a new line-up. Olympic Sochi-2014 champion Anton Kushnir is resting his injuries, while Olympic medallists Alla Tsuper and Alexey Grishin, alongside Olympic double medallist Dmitry Dashchinsky, are newly retired.
