Gomel’s Palace and Park Estate launches virtual 3D tour for visitors

The online ‘tour’ (available on the website of this cultural institution) allows visitors a taste of the famous Rumyantsev-Paskevichs’ Palace, aiming to encourage a real-life excursion as a result. The project which targets a wide audience will be developing gradually. At present, the virtual excursion comprises 20 photos (3D) featuring the palace, some of its halls, St. Peter and St. Paul’s Cathedral, the Sozh River embankment and other remarkable places of the palace and park estate. The major advantage of the innovation is general availability of such excursions, as these can even be viewed on a tablet or mobile phone, can be recorded on a CD or be sent by email.

Permanent 3D exhibitions are planned for the future at the Gomel museum, in addition to temporary displays. “We hope that these virtual tours will arouse interest in visiting our museum, to see its real exhibits,” notes Oksana Toropova, Director of the Palace and Park Estate.
