The coin is part of the international program “Gold Coins with Diamonds” and will be sold both on the domestic and foreign markets.The coin is round. The rim is raised on both sides of the coin. The edge of the coin is corrugated.The head of the coin pictures a raised impression of Belarus’ State Emblem. Below is the standard of alloy and mint year. In the upper part there is an inscription “Рэспублiка Беларусь” (Republic of Belarus), and in the lower part there is an inscription “Пяцьдзесят рублёў” (Fifty Rubles).
The tail of the coin has an image of a peregrin falcon, a diamond insert and an inscription “Сокал-падарожнік Falco Peregrinus”.The coins are a legal tender of Belarus for all debts, public and private without restriction.
The bank had 2,000 “Sokal-padarozhnik” coins minted by Valcambi S.A., Switzerland, of them 1,000 coins will be sold in Belarus.
The coin is available in some branches of the NBB and larger commercial banks for Belarusian rubles. In 2006 the NBB plans to put into circulation gold coins from the “National Parks and Reserves of Belarus” series.
