“From January 1st, Belarus will pay Gazprom in accordance with 2014 prices. We expect that the price for natural gas will change from February,” notes Gazprom Transgaz Belarus JSC. The new price is yet to be revealed, due to confidentiality.
At present, Belarus pays about $168 per thousand cubic metres of natural gas although, in 2015, the price may fall to $154-155. Regarding volumes, Gazprom Transgaz Belarus JSC notes that the Russian company will supply about 20bn cubic metres (about the same as in 2014). In 2015, approximately 45bn cubic metres of Russian natural gas will transit via Belarus, maintaining figures previously stipulated.
In mid-December 2014, Gazprom Transgaz Belarus JSC mentioned the signing of a three-year contract for the delivery of Russian natural gas to Belarus. The previous effective three-year contract expired on December 31st, 2014.
