The biggest wheel-mounted power shovel in the country was formally introduced in Zhlobin. The vehicle — Dnepr EW1901 — is made at the Dnepr Zhlobin Mechanical Plant JSC. The project is part of the import substitution programme with 65 percent of parts of Belarusian manufacture, while the Zhlobin shovel is by 25 percent cheaper than foreign equivalents.The Head of the Sales Department of Zhlobin’s Dnepr Mechanical Plant, Vitaly Feskov, told that earlier they produced caterpillar excavating machines, “While this is a wheel project. The biggest in the country on its technical possibilities: the bucket volume is 1.2 cubic metres. The wheeled mover allows it to travel independently between locations on public roads with a speed up to 20kmh.”
The control system of the shovel is performed by high-sensitivity joysticks. In the cabin is a conditioner-heater, an adjustable seat and doors and hatches are equipped with noise and thermal insulation. The first model is experimental, but after tests, it is planned to start batch production.
