A great many opportunities exist to broaden our mutual trade and co-operation, but our Governments need to follow a pragmatic, active path. President Lukashenko has promised full support in this matter, stating, “We’re ready to set up joint companies in Thailand to produce the goods you need, especially in mechanical engineering. We’re ready to supply goods and also buy products from Thailand. Some draft documents are currently on the table. We both know what we should do and that we need to take these steps.”

Legislation is required for mutual trade, with lawmakers from both countries working closely on the issue. MAZ and Gomselmash are in talks with Thai partners, regarding supply, and investigations are being made into the possibility of creating a joint venture to assemble right-hand drive trucks at Wyncoast Industrial Park. BelAZ has proposed interesting commercial offers.
