Organisers are preparing for the lumberjack world championship — to be held in Estonia in 2006 — by running a "rehearsal" contest. Estonia has invited representatives from all European countries to take part in the contest — which is complying with world rules. Belarus is represented by the winners of regional and previous republican competitions. The Estonian championship has given Belarusian participants a unique possibility to see how wood-cutters from Germany and several Scandinavian countries — Sweden, Finland and Belgium — perform.
