Arman-Marshall Silla is a favourite of the tournament in the heavy weight category. In the first round the Belarusian taekwondo athlete managed to defeat British Lyle Walker (9:4) and then beat Turkish Kaan Kilic (16:4) and Poland’s Piotr Hatowski. (15:6).
In the final match Arman-Marshall Silla defeated in a tough struggle Roman Kuznetsov of Russia (11:10) who beat another favourite of the championship — British Mahama Cho — on his way to the decisive fight.
For the Belarusian athlete, ranked ninth in the world ranking, this is the second success at the continental forum. He first became a European champion in 2014. Arman-Marshall Silla is Belarus’ only taekwondo representative who will take part in Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
