In his speech Mr. Myasnikovich, who headed the Belarusian delegation at the forum, underlined the principal importance of observing such fundamental principles of international law as non-interference with the domestic affairs of sovereign states, peaceful settlement of disputes and mutual claims in the spirit of tolerance and mutually respectful dialogue. In this context the Chairman of the Council of the Republic noted the significant role of the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, in settling the conflict around Ukraine and in strengthening regional and pan-European security in general.
The head of the Belarusian delegation also emphasised that the UNAOC tribune should be completely free from any attempts to advance personal goals, as well as politicised confrontational actions and statements.
The 7th Global Forum of the United Nations Alliance of Civilisations is taking place amid the exacerbated international situation, increasing concerns of the world community due to continuous numerous local conflicts and migration crises.
