The programme aims to popularise the use of Belarusian language and knowledge of its literature across 25 schools countrywide. Children’s writer Vladimir Lipsky, publicist writer Tatiana Sivets and poetess Raisa Borovikova are to tour schools, inspiring second and third grade pupils with special lessons.

“Participation in the project allows writers the chance to help teachers open up a wonderful world of native language and literature to children, to expand their horizon, familiarising them with the creativity of Belarusian writers,” believes Ms. Borovikova.

During lessons in regional and district centres, children will become acquainted with contemporary Belarusian writers and their works while receiving practical skills in their native language in an exciting format. The first regional lessons are being held in April and May in Gomel, Bragin, Rechitsa, Svetlogorsk, Mozyr and Zhlobin. Meanwhile, early in the new academic year, the project team will tour schools in Brest and the Brest Region, giving exciting lessons.
