Casablanca hosts international tournament attracting 300 athletes from over 50 countries

Belarusians captured three medals at the African Open — including one gold, thanks to Marina Slutskaya (in the 78kg category). In the quarter-finals, Marina defeated French Anne M’Bairo and, in the semi-finals, took less than a minute to crush Cameroon’s Nadine Wetie Diodjo. In the decisive battle for gold, the Belarusian confidently beat Sonia Asselah, from Algeria.

Belarusian athletes also won two bronze medals: Daria Skrypnik (under 52kg) and Alexander Steshenko (under 81kg).
