Another round of negotiations to simplify visa regime between EU and Belarus may take place soon

The Head of the EU Delegation to Belarus, Maira Mora, has told journalists that visa facilitation and readmission agreements between the EU and Belarus are being discussed but the date of the meeting has not yet been set. Ms. Mora underlined that during the previous round of negotiations the two sides have discussed all provisions for both agreements and identified problem areas, including simplification of the visa regime for holders of diplomatic passports. Meanwhile, Belarus’ Deputy Foreign Minister, Yelena Kupchina, has told journalists that ‘the ball is in the Europeans’ court’.
