Dinamo Minsk comes second at 2014 International AEON Rhythmic Gymnastics Cup, hosted by Tokyo

Dinamo team was represented by Melitina Stanyuta, Maria Trubach and Yekaterina Galkina, with the Belarusian graces reaching the finals of the tournament’s play-offs. There, they met the Russian Gazprom squad, comprising two world rhythmic gymnastics stars: Yana Kudryavtseva and Margarita Mamum — as well as Veronika Polyakova.

The Belarusian trio earned 205.564 points (compared to Russia’s 212.530) leaving them in second place behind Gazprom. Bronze went to Ukraine’s Deryugina’s School, represented by Anna Rizatdinova, Eleonora Romanova and Maria Mulik. The hosts of the event — the Japanese — finished fourth. Remarkably, a year ago, the medals were distributed between the same teams, in the same sequence.

In the individual adult all-round, Melitina Stanyuta of Belarus took bronze, behind Margarita Mamum and Yana Kudryavtseva. Among the juniors, Stanyuta’s teammate, Maria Trubach, earned silver while victory was claimed by Gazprom’s Veronika Polyakova. Third place went to Azerbaijani Zhala Piriyeva.
