Specialists of the Forestry Ministry of Belarus will go to Finland in September to study forest management standards

The group that will go to Finland will consist of leading specialists of the forestry companies. During the trip, which will take place in the second half of September, Belarusian specialists will become familiar with the whole forestry chain in the country.

Specialists of the Belarusian Forestry Ministry have repeatedly visited Finland and other European countries in order to study their experience of forest management.

According to Alexander Kulik, Belarus’ First Deputy Minister, the methodology of forest management in Belarus differs from that in Finland. “However, Finland has a higher demand for timber on the domestic market,” explains Mr. Kulik. The modernisation of the enterprises of the Bellesbumprom Concern is on track to completion. With the new facilities in service, the volume of wood processing will also significantly increase in Belarus.
