Belarus’ Foreign Ministry welcomes the European Union Council’s decision to lift most sanctions from Belarus, reads the commentary of the Head of Information Office and Foreign Ministry’s Press Secretary, Dmitry Mironchik

“We welcome the decision of the Foreign Affairs Council of the European Union to lift most restrictive measures regarding Belarus and to step up co-operation with our country,” notes Mr. Mironchik adding that this decision is an important stage on the way towards full normalisation of relations and opens up new opportunities for the expansion of versatile interaction between Belarus and the EU in addition to advancing it to a brand new level.

“We’re convinced that the decision meets the interests of Belarus, the EU and the entire European region as a whole. The decision adopted by the EU Council vividly testifies that the dialogue is the most efficient way to settle disputes. We hope that it will facilitate strengthening of regional stability and security. We’re ready to make our own contribution into this process,” notes the Foreign Ministry’s representative.

Mr. Mironchik added that Belarus is open to continuing the constructive dialogue with the European Union and its member states across all areas of mutual interest.
