18-year-old Gomel resident becomes the winner of prestigious Google competition

On his first try, Gennady Korotkevich has won at the Google Code Jam annual competition of programmers, receiving the main prize of $15,000. Korotkevich managed to beat over 25 of the best programmers of the world.

Last year, Gennady Korotkevich also took part in Google Code Jam and managed to make it to the final, however age restrictions prevented him from further participation in the competition.

This year Korotkevich has managed to leave behind more than 20 thousand programmers of the globe. Second place went to Yevgeny Kapun from Russia and the third was won by the Chinese entrant, Yuzhou Gu. We will remind that in 2013, the Gomel programmer celebrated victory in the Yandex. Algorithm competition, while in 2012, he took 3rd place in the VK Cup international championship of programmers.
