Dancing and games inspired by Middle Ages

Day of Culture of Peoples of Grand Duchy of Lithuania to take place in Minsk
The National Art Museum is to become the centre of the celebrations on July 24th, hosting a five-hour programme in its courtyard. Popular Belarusian folk band Palats is being joined by the Ukrainian GICH Orchestra — one of the most popular festival groups — and VoLosi Polish string quintet, which has conquered neighbouring countries and beyond. Aiste Smilgeviciutes & SKYLE, which won this year’s Prize of the President of Lithuania for Contributions to Culture, will also be playing.

Traditional craft producers from Skarbnitsa will entertain visitors, while guests are sure to be delighted by an exhibition of costumes, armour and weaponry from the Middle Ages, organised by the Youth Public Association. The ‘Living History’ event will include dances, quizzes and prizes. Meanwhile, the Art-Cafe will be offering a special menu. An exhibition entitled Portraits of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania and Nobles of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania is also on show within the main museum building.
