Contemporary technology opens up new horizons of oil extraction

This year, the Day for Oil, Gas and Fuel Industry Workers coincides with a historical date for Belarusian oil workers: 50 years ago, the first commercial oil inflow was received in the south-eastern part of Belarus, from the Pripyatsky flexure

Today the profession of oil worker in Belarus is a symbol of hard work and persistence

Daily oil inflow amounted to 126 tonnes at the first, 1,996m deep, commercial well. Two months later, another well (3,000m deep) was drilled, producing 600 tonnes of the ‘black gold’. Thus, the first commercial multi-layer oil deposit, called Rechitskoe, was created in Belarus.

At present, oil workers research and master new deposits, while using contemporary techniques and launching new technologies. For example, recently, the commercial extraction of oil from tight reservoirs at horizontal well No. 310g of the Rechitskoe deposit has begun for the first time in the history of the Belarusian oil industry.

The commercial extraction of such reserves involves special, complicated and expensive technologies of extraction intensification. These are based on multi-phased, hydraulic fracturing that was first tested in Belarus at well No. 310g.
