Belarus’ national team occupies second place at World Shore Angling Championships, held in Ireland

First place went to Ukraine, due to fewer penalty points. The Belarusian squad, comprising Yuri Mitskelevich, Pavel Voron, Pavel Gerasimenko, Oleg Medvedev, Sergey Romanov and Alexey Yudenkov, finished second, while the Lithuanian team claimed bronze. In total, the World Shore Angling Championships brought together athletes from seventeen states.

Our Belarusian fishermen took fourth place in 2013 (their best result until this year) but the Ireland medal follows our team gold at the 13th World Championship for Bank Fishing with Lures.

Pavel Ignatovich won gold in the personal event, followed by his teammate, Yuri Shchors, who came second.
