International Prodexpo-2014 Specialised Exhibition celebrates jubilee


For two decades, the fair has showcased innovations by Belarusian and foreign producers, creating a unique communication platform for the conclusion of million Dollar deals. This year, the event gathered over 200 exhibitors from ten countries, occupying 12,000 sq.m at Minsk’s Football Manege.

Businesses appreciate such projects, which are few in number. Prodexpo has already gained high international status; pleasingly, participants come not only to demonstrate their goods but to learn something new. Belarusian food, confectionery and beverages are enjoy popularity in many countries and, unsurprisingly, enhanced export potential is a priority for domestic food companies. Belarusian food enjoys high quality so shows like Prodexpo are the perfect chance to expand our presence on old markets and conquer new.

Krasny Pishchevik JSC, from Bobruisk, is among those companies occupying a steady position on the EU market. Its Director, Sergey Anyukhovsky, is convinced, “It’s important to show the ability to trade, so we can gain new knowledge at Prodexpo — at which true giants of the food and confectionery industry gather. This exposition is a highlight of the year for us. We don’t simply position our produce but compare achievements: technical modernisation, range, quality, production volumes and prime cost. Generally, we define the degree of our competitiveness, while outlining plans for the future.”

“It’s pleasant to see that our new products do meet global and European trends,” Mr. Anyukhovsky adds. “We’ve managed to significantly increase nutritional value and have ranges for any time of the day: morning foods boast high energy potential, while those for the day improve your mood, and evening items are low in calories and ease digestion. The fair enables us to demonstrate, sell and offer tasting samples of new and old ranges.”

Prodexpo-2014 fully demonstrates modern trends in food industry development. A round table — Development on the Food Market — was organised, with a separate day devoted to negotiations. Exhibitors enjoyed the chance to find a common language with trading networks, suppliers and dealers.

An international contest of food and beverage producers ‘decorated’ the event, showcasing products suitable for eating immediately. Minskkhlebprom presented its new bread: MAG (Youth. Activity. Harmony).

The traditional Champion of Taste contest enabled gourmet expert judges from the industry to sample meat, milk, confectionery and bread products.
