Belarusian Union of Artists’ sports themed exhibition to open on April 30th, at Palace of Arts, in advance of Ice Hockey World Championship
The exhibition is to feature about a thousand works of fine art, decorative and applied art and sculpture, from across Belarus.
The Deputy Chairman of the Belarusian Union of Artists, Leonid Khobotov, tells us, “The Palace of Arts aims to create the feeling of a sports arena within its walls.” Although the event is sports themed, the exhibition is primarily devoted to art. Mr. Khobotov adds,
“We’re interested in creative revelation and ‘truth’ in art; professional artists have no need to ‘illustrate’ events.”
