On the eve of home selection matches for the 2016 UEFA European Championship against Ukraine and Slovakia, the Belarusian national squad undergoes some changes

In the forthcoming games, the national squad will have to do without injured players from Dinamo Minsk: goalkeeper Alexander Gutor and defender Sergey Politevich. The head coach of the Belarusian national squad, Georgy Kondratiev, has called upon Gomel’s goalie, Andrey Klimovich, who will be making his debut for the country’s major team.

The line-up is missing top player Alexander Hleb (currently playing for Turkish Konyaspor) despite him being on good form. “This is the coach’s decision,” comments Alexander. Dinamo Minsk’s Oleg Vertilo and Maxim Zhavnerchik (playing for Kuban Krasnodar) are also missing from the team, alongside Anton Putilo (Torpedo Moscow) and Yan Tigorev (Lokomotiv Moscow).

Sergey Matveichik and Nikolay Yanush are making their debut on the squad, while Yuri Zhevnov and Renan Bressan return after a long break. Vitaly Rodionov, Mikhail Sivakov and Dmitry Verkhovtsev are also to join the line-up.
