Belorusneft State Production Association reached a record level of depth of drilling, the MT correspondent learns at the enterprise

Now it has reached 5,625m. The new record was established at the first super-deep parametrical well #1 Predrechitskaya. The authorship of the record belongs to Sergey Bolshakov’s brigade, which works on a Bentec drilling machine.

According to the company, “Today, although the level of 5,625m is an absolute depth record for all history of drilling in Belarus, this is not final.” Drilling in well #1 Predrechitskaya continues and, according to the project, its final depth should reach 6,680m. It is expected that this well will become the deepest not only in Belarus, but also in the CIS. In Russia, there are also wells of such an extent, but they are horizontal. #1 Predrechitskaya is a controlled directional well, with a deviation angle of 470m.

Drilling on #1 Predrechitskaya was started with the purpose of searching for deposits of hydrocarbons in the deposition of intersalt complex and estimation of prospects of oil and gas content of subsalt upper proterozoic complexes within the Predrechitskaya intersalt trap.
