The captain of the national handball team, Sergey Rutenko, has been nominated for the title of ‘best left back handball player of the world’, for 2014, via the Handball-Planet.com popular Internet-portal. He won the title last year.
Three handball stars — Mikkel Hansen from Denmark (playing for French Paris Saint-Germain), Filip Jícha from the Czech Republic (for German Kiel) and Momir Ilić from Serbia (for Hungarian Veszprém) — are rivals of the 33 year old Belarusian, who plays for Spanish Barcelona. Current polling will end on December 4th.
