Belarusian cyclists qualify to participate in time trials at Rio de Janeiro Olympics
The list of national Olympic teams who have qualified to compete in the men’s staged race events (both groups and individuals, with separate starts) has been published on the official site of UCI (International Cycling Union), along with quotas for the number of athletes.
During the Summer Games, held at Forte de Copacabana, 144 male cyclists will take part in the group race. Belarus has been awarded two places. In the individual event, 40 sportsmen will take part, including Belarus’ two men. In this event, Belarusian Vasily Kiriyenko is a world champion: he won the title in September 2015, in Richmond, USA.
The women’s qualification places will be published in June of this year.
