Volfovich characterised current situation in the world: global confrontation, and not only military

The situation in the world is in a state of systemic crisis in international relations – as noted by State Secretary of the Security Council Aleksandr Volfovich at the opening of the 52nd meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Security Agencies and Special Services in Minsk

“We have to admit that the current situation in the world is in a state of systemic crisis in international relations. Humanity has entered an era of acute global confrontation, which extends not only to the military, but also to other dimensions,” Volfovich said.

He added that among the main threats are not only the militarisation of the European region, but also the stagnation of the mechanisms for non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.

According to Aleksandr, the current situation in the European region can be assessed as the largest military-political crisis since WWII.
