Roscosmos Director General Yuri Borisov said the two states are agreeing on the creation of universal docking modules in the interests of safety, “The life of a cosmonaut in orbit is the most precious. In case of an emergency or some unforeseen [situations] there must be an opportunity to dock with Russian or American spacecraft. There is nothing to divide here, people must be saved. I think we’ll continue working in this direction.”

He also noted that after 2030, Russia and the US are not expected to implement such large-scale joint projects like today’s International Space Station (ISS).

“That is, most likely there will be a Russian orbital station, the Chinese have their own project, and the Americans will have their own project,” Yuri Borisov explained.
