State Border Committee: two corpses of refugees found on Belarusian-Latvian border

The bodies of two men with no traces of life were found by Belarusian border guards at the Latvian border fence in the Braslav District, sb.by reports with reference to the Telegram channel of the State Border Committee

According to the source, the body of one refugee was in a ditch next to the gate, the second was forty metres from the border fence.

"The border guards immediately called an ambulance team. Paramedics arrived and pronounced the men dead. An investigative task force began working at the scene," the press service of the State Border Committee said.

It is reported that, since 2021, the Belarusian side has recorded the death of 54 foreigners on the border with the EU countries, 25 of whom died on the border with Poland, 9 – with Lithuania, and 20 – with Latvia.
