Sabalenka and Badosa are known to be friends off the court. However, of course, there was no room for compromise in the match, and both athletes played to the best of their abilities.

The Belarusian snatched victory in the first game in a tiebreak. Then she failed to hold the second set. In the decisive game, the rivals also matched each other and would certainly have had a wonderful ending, but Badosa's injury intervened.

Aliaksandra Sasnovich (WTA: 110), unfortunately, has already completed her performance at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix. The Belarusian defeated Croatian Jana Fett (WTA: 148) (6:4, 7:6) and French Oceane Dodin (WTA: 76) (6:2, 3:6, 6:4) in qualifying, but in the first round of the main draw, the third racket of Belarus, alas, suffered a defeat by American Sachia Vickery (WTA: 134) (6:7, 5:7).

In addition to Aryna Sabalenka, such top athletes as Iga Swiatek, Coco Gauff, Elena Rybakina, Zheng Qinwen, Marketa Vondrousova, Ons Jabeur, Jelena Ostapenko, and Elise Mertens showed up for the tournament.

It is worth mentioning that Aryna Sabalenka played in the finals of these competitions in 2021, 2022, and 2023, but lost three times.
