Representative of Buryatia: we’re keen to assemble Belarusian agricultural machines in Far East

Buryatia is interested in establishing a joint production facility with Belarus for the assembly of agricultural machinery in the Far East – as noted by Galsan Dareev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Buryatia, who heads the delegation at the 5th Brest-2022 international forum of business contacts

Galsan Dareev noted that, first of all, Buryatia is interested in mutually beneficial co-operation in agriculture and agricultural technologies, “Dairy products from the Brest Region are sold in Buryatia. It would seem that 7,000km is a huge distance, but they are not an obstacle. The products are in demand. Since the Brest Region is Belarus’ leader in the production of dairy products, we are interested in exchanging wholesale. In general, we are keen on Belarus-made agricultural engineering, we are interested in the supply of these goods to Buryatia and, possibly, the establishment of a joint production facility for the assembly of agricultural machinery in the Far East. We are keen on any kind of interaction: tourism, recreation, medicine, and cosmetic industry. At the forum we will visit Brest enterprises, our representatives are working across all sections.”

The main topic of the forum, which opened today in Brest, is Investments, Innovations and International Co-operation.

In late 2021, the trade turnover between Belarus and Buryatia totalled $8.7m. Export of goods to Buryatia covered 77 commodity items, including engineering and food products.
