A member of the NOC Executive Committee and the Women and Sport Commission, an Olympic rowing champion – Aliaksandr Bahdanovich – congratulated sportswomen-mothers on the holiday and presented them with flowers and memorable gifts.

Children of famous Belarusian athletes took part in quests and contests, enjoyed sweet treats, spoke of their mothers and sang a beautiful song. As informed by the NOC press service, famous Belarusian athlete moms shared their stories about how to combine family and professional sports, the importance of supporting fathers, as well as how to return to training after a maternity leave.

A bronze medallist of the Athens Olympics and an eight-time world champion in track cycling, Natalia Tsylinskaya, said that holidays of the kind should become a good tradition, while a bronze medallist of the London Olympics and a member of the NOC Executive Committee, Liubou Charkashyna, noted, “We wanted to make the Mother's Day holiday very beautiful and memorable, to show what wonderful families our mothers – athletes and champions – have. The organisers have chosen an excellent format so that we, mothers, could relax and take part in various competitions. As a result, mothers and children had a great time!”

“Dear ladies! Let’s congratulate you all on Mother's Day! You are our lifelong protection, support, source of strength and inspiration. Thank you for your care, endless love and faith in our strength, no matter what happens. We wish you to be healthy, happy, joyful, be proud of your children and tell them that you love them. Happy holidays, our dear!” the NOC of Belarus addressed them.
