The US and its allies have been unable to stop attacks by the Houthis in northern Yemen on ships and warships, despite their use of all the expensive military equipment, RIA Novosti reports with reference to Bloomberg

The Commander of the US Red Sea flotilla, Rear Admiral Mark Miguez, reportedly acknowledges that the US and its allies still have a lot of work to do in the wake of the Houthis’ actions. According to him, ‘they managed to reduce some of the Houthis capability, but he does not undertake to say when their attacks on ships and ships will stop’.

It is also noted that containing the Houthis is very expensive and unprofitable for the US. The news agency cites the opinion of an unnamed Western official that the Houthis likely have the ability to keep launching strikes on other ships at something close to its current pace for months to come. Bloomberg report notes that if foreign military personnel are killed because of Houthi attacks on a warship, the US may move on to attacks on the leaders of the movement.
